Types of Amber We Work With
The sunstone, rich in natural hues, is what sets our products apart. There are over 300 shades of amber, ranging from ‘royal’ white to deep brown. There are milky-white, yellow, and even red stones. We use many of them in our production. Below, we will provide more details about some of them.
Landscape Amber
Landscape Amber
This type of amber has a non-uniform coloration consisting of white, dark, and golden streaks. Its pattern can be likened to a picturesque canvas resembling a natural landscape, such as a forest, mountains, or a river.
Such material is considered one of the most sought-after in the jewelry market, as each piece with a gemstone inclusion is truly unique. We witness this firsthand when we craft items using landscape amber.
Royal Amber
Royal Amber
The stone’s color is nearly white and matte (sometimes referred to as milky). It can have various inclusions ranging from yellow to black hues. We often use it in our mosaic designs.
White amber is formed through the solidification of resin from coniferous trees. Initially, all amber is yellow. It becomes white due to the presence of tiny gas bubbles trapped within. Their abundance is so great that the falling rays of light are reflected, unable to penetrate the interior. This creates the illusion of a white or milky coloration.
Among all existing types, this stone is the rarest. Its high value is attributed to its limited supply, accounting for just over 2% of the total mass.
Black Amber
Black Amber
This type of amber stands out from the ordinary with its black or dark brown color. It is considered rare and valuable, requiring special knowledge and equipment for its extraction. These shades are important for our products, so we utilize unique technologies to make its use possible. You can notice black amber in various panels and mosaic pieces from our manufactory.
Red Amber
Red Amber
It is formed from tree resin that contains a high concentration of red pigment. This type has a lower density compared to other ambers, making it more fragile and easier to work with.
Red amber is a rare variety, which makes it a popular item for collectors and investors. It is also a favored material for creating jewelry and decorative items due to its unique beauty and aesthetic value.
Yellow Amber
Yellow Amber
Unlike other colors of amber, yellow amber stands out with a softer and warmer tone. It can range from pale yellow to rich golden hues. It has good transparency and light transmission, making it popular for creating jewelry and interior objects. Yellow amber, with its warm golden color, is widely used in our interior designs. It complements well with various types of wood and other precious and semi-precious gemstones in decor.
We have the ability to showcase the beauty and luxury
of this noble material in our products.
It can be difficult to believe in the attractiveness of amber until you see something truly exceptional and original. We invite you to see it with your own eyes!
Origin of Amber
The largest amber deposit in the world is located in the Kaliningrad region. Approximately 90% of the global volume of “sunstone” is extracted here. The history of amber production in the Baltic region began several thousand years ago and continues to this day.
