Types of Amber We Work With
The sunstone, rich in natural hues, is what sets our products apart. There are over 300 shades of amber, ranging from ‘royal’ white to deep brown. There are milky-white, yellow, and even red stones. We use many of them in our production. Below, we will provide more details about some of them.

Royal Amber

The stone’s color is nearly white and matte (sometimes referred to as milky). It can have various inclusions ranging from yellow to black hues. We often use it in our mosaic designs.
White amber is formed through the solidification of resin from coniferous trees. Initially, all amber is yellow. It becomes white due to the presence of tiny gas bubbles trapped within. Their abundance is so great that the falling rays of light are reflected, unable to penetrate the interior. This creates the illusion of a white or milky coloration.
Among all existing types, this stone is the rarest. Its high value is attributed to its limited supply, accounting for just over 2% of the total mass.

The largest amber deposit in the world is located in the Kaliningrad region. Approximately 90% of the global volume of “sunstone” is extracted here. The history of amber production in the Baltic region began several thousand years ago and continues to this day.
